“Is The Real World legit?” usually means one of two things. Some people want to know whether it is a real product or a trick to take their money. Others have landed on a site calling itself “official” and want to know whether it is the real one. Both have clear answers from The Real World’s own pages. Is The Real World legit?

Yes, in the sense that it is a real business selling a real product. The Real World is an online learning platform, formerly Hustlers University, where members pay a subscription to use campuses, lessons, live sessions and chats. “Legit” does not mean guaranteed. The Terms of Use say New Era Learning “does not guarantee that use of the Subscriptions will result in any particular financial, business or commercial outcome”. A real product can still be the wrong purchase for you.

Who runs The Real World?

The official about page says The Real World is “owned and operated by New Era Learning LLC”, which it describes as “registered in Sharjah Media City” in the UAE. The Terms of Use say the agreement is “governed by the laws of the State of Delaware”.

Is The Real World a scam?

This site does not call it one, and the claims people search for come from a few places:

• Critics and commentators. Some online reviewers and videos use the word “scam” in their titles. One independent reviewer, who rated the platform 3 out of 5 in July 2026 and sells his own course, wrote: “A scam takes your money and gives you nothing. The Real World gives you something.”
• A former member’s account. In January 2024, VICE published an account from a former member who described the platform as “a cult”. That is one person’s view.
• Hustlers University’s history. Much of the older criticism was aimed at the previous platform in 2022 (see the next section).

The fair summary: members pay for access and get it. Whether they get results depends on what they do with it, and the platform says so itself.

Is The Real World a pyramid scheme?

The membership sells access to courses, lessons and a community for a monthly or yearly fee. The pyramid-scheme label goes back to 2022, when critics, including an article in Affiliate Daily News that July, compared Hustlers University’s old referral-based marketing program to one. That program closed in August 2022, before the platform relaunched as The Real World. Those were critics’ comparisons, not legal findings.

Yes. jointherealworld.com is The Real World’s official website, and its checkout is where memberships are sold. The app is not downloaded from an app store: the official support page says it installs from the website, with “no App Store, no Play Store, no waiting for approval”.

Are there fake Real World websites?

There are many look-alike sites, and some use titles such as “Official Portal”. At least one site titled “The Real World - Official Portal” states in its footer that it is independently owned and operated by an affiliate, not by New Era Learning LLC. To check where you are before paying:

1. Look at the address bar. The official site is jointherealworld.com. Anything else is a third-party site.
2. Read the footer. Honest third-party sites say they are independent or run by an affiliate.

4. Install the app from the official website. The support page says it does not come from an app store.
