How Did Andrew and Tristan Tate Make Their Money?

What's on record about how Andrew and Tristan Tate made their money: kickboxing, a webcam business, casinos and Hustlers University, and why no net worth figure is verified.

Navy card quoting US Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis, as reported by Al Jazeera on 9 September 2026: may not in fact possess what extravagant holdings they portray themselves as possessing online

Direct answer

On the public record, Andrew and Tristan Tate made money in four ways. Both were professional kickboxers, and Andrew won world titles, though no reputable outlet has published what the fights paid. Both have acknowledged running a webcam business, which they say was legitimate; leaked bank records reported by ICIJ in May 2024 show about $2.6 million paid into Tristan's account by a webcam platform. An OCCRP investigation in May 2023 found contracts giving a company the brothers controlled a share of the profits of at least six casinos in Romania. And Andrew founded Hustlers University, which The Observer said in August 2022 had 127,000 members and had potentially made him millions of pounds; New Era Learning LLC has owned it, as The Real World, since 2022. There is no verified net worth figure. In September 2026 a US judge wrote that they "may not in fact possess" the wealth they show online. Both brothers deny the criminal allegations against them and have not been convicted.

“How do they make money?” is one of the most common questions about Andrew and Tristan Tate, and the answers online are mostly guesses, big numbers and their own boasts. This page sets out only what is on the record: what reputable outlets have reported and what the brothers themselves have said, each with a name and a date. Their own statements are presented as their claims, not as facts. This site is independent; it isn’t run by the Tates, The Real World or New Era Learning LLC, and it reports The Real World’s own facts in what The Real World is.

How did Andrew and Tristan Tate make their money?

Four income sources appear in reputable reporting:

Source of income What’s on record Who reported it How solid
Kickboxing Both fought professionally; Andrew won world titles The Observer (August 2022), Al Jazeera (September 2026) Solid. No earnings figures published
A webcam business Both have said they ran one; about $2.6 million reached Tristan’s account from a webcam platform NBC News (January 2023), ICIJ (May 2024) Solid that it existed; Andrew’s own revenue claims unverified
Casinos in Romania Contracts gave a company the brothers controlled a share of profits from at least six casinos OCCRP and RISE Project (May 2023) Documented by an investigation; amounts not published
Hustlers University 127,000 members in August 2022, “potentially” millions of pounds for Andrew The Observer (August 2022) An estimate; no accounts published

The sections below take each in turn.

Kickboxing

Andrew Tate trained as a kickboxer through his 20s, “going on to fight professionally and win world titles”, according to The Observer (The Observer, August 6, 2022). Al Jazeera, with AP and Reuters, describes both brothers as “former kickboxers” (Al Jazeera, September 4, 2026). (Reported by reputable outlets.)

What the fights paid isn’t on record. None of the reputable sources checked for this page gives a figure, so this page doesn’t either.

The webcam business

Both brothers have talked publicly about running a webcam business. NBC News reported that Andrew Tate said on a podcast that he “started his webcam sex business seven years ago when he was ‘broke’”, and that he had once called it a “total scam” (NBC News, January 19, 2023). (Their own statements, as reported.)

In May 2024 the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists reported on leaked bank records for Tristan Tate’s account at Paxum Bank, covering 2017 to 2024. Almost all the deposits, about $2.6 million of about $2.8 million, came from MFCXY Inc., a company that hosts an adult webcam service, and the payments ran until August 2022 (ICIJ, May 7, 2024). (Documented by ICIJ.)

The same ICIJ report records the brothers’ side:

  • Both “have acknowledged operating a webcam business but claim that the women performing on camera voluntarily split earnings with them”.
  • Tristan Tate has called it “a perfectly legal streaming business”, and said he was more involved in it than Andrew and left it several years before the Romanian charges.
  • Andrew Tate claimed he earned $600,000 a month at the business’s height, according to The Mirror as cited by ICIJ. That is his own figure and hasn’t been verified.

Romanian prosecutors’ allegations about the webcam business are part of the criminal cases, covered in the legal section below. The brothers deny them.

Casinos in Romania

Andrew Tate claimed in several interviews to have gone into the casino business with partners who owned “400 [gambling] locations”, according to OCCRP. Its reporters said that at first there was no evidence for this. Then, in May 2023, OCCRP and its Romanian member centre RISE Project published joint-venture contracts showing that profits from at least six branches of the Las Vegas casino chain were shared with Talisman Enterprises, “a Romanian company controlled by the Tate brothers” (OCCRP, May 31, 2023). (Documented by the investigation.)

The casino group told the reporters it had “severed all ties with the Tates”. Tristan Tate told them he had no comment on the casino business, and their lawyers didn’t respond. A spokesperson for Romania’s organized crime prosecutors told OCCRP at the time that they were not investigating the brothers’ activities in the gambling industry. How much the casinos paid the brothers wasn’t published.

Hustlers University and The Real World

Hustlers University was Andrew Tate’s online program, and it’s the source most people searching this have heard of. In August 2022, The Observer reported that it had 127,000 members paying a monthly fee, which had “potentially made him millions of pounds” (The Observer, August 6, 2022). Two weeks later The Guardian reported that the program had shut its referral (affiliate) scheme, “the loss of a key revenue stream for Tate”, and that membership was down to about 109,000 (The Guardian, August 20, 2022). Those are the papers’ estimates; no accounts have been published.

The program carries on under a different name and owner. The Real World’s About page says that in 2022 New Era Learning LLC “acquired the Hustler’s University brand and launched The Real World”, and that New Era Learning LLC “owns and operates the platform, the app and the curriculum” (About page). (PRIMARY, read November 7, 2026.) It describes no current role for Andrew or Tristan Tate, so whether either earns from The Real World today isn’t public, and this page doesn’t guess. The history is in Hustlers University then and now.

What is Andrew Tate’s net worth?

There is no verified figure. Neither brother has published accounts, and the numbers on net-worth websites come without documents. The only money figures in reputable reporting are partial:

  • Assets seized in Romania. In January 2023, Romania’s asset agency estimated the goods it removed, including 15 luxury cars, designer watches and cash, at “3.6 million euros ($3.9 million)” (Associated Press, January 14, 2023). Prosecutors also identified “more than 10 properties and land owned by companies registered to the Tate brothers”, AP reported. That is a value of seized goods, not a net worth.
  • The webcam payments of about $2.6 million into Tristan’s account, from ICIJ above.
  • What a US judge wrote in 2026. Refusing them bail on September 9, 2026, US Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis wrote that while the brothers “may not in fact possess what extravagant holdings they portray themselves as possessing online, the record reflects that they possess an exceptional capacity to flee the jurisdiction” (Al Jazeera, September 9, 2026). Their own lawyers called their displays of wealth on social media “theatrical” and “grandiose”, the same report says.

So any single net-worth number you see for 2026 is someone’s estimate or someone’s claim.

Is Andrew Tate a scammer?

This site doesn’t call anyone a scammer. What’s on the record is attributed:

  • His own words. Andrew Tate once called his webcam business a “total scam”, NBC News reported (January 19, 2023).
  • Critics of Hustlers University. In 2022 critics called the program’s referral scheme pyramid-like, and the scheme closed that August. The Guardian reported Tate saying that criticisms including the pyramid-scheme claims were “all false”. The detail is in is The Real World a pyramid scheme, and a wider view in is The Real World legit.

The criminal cases are a separate matter, below.

Checked November 7, 2026. Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested in Miami on July 18, 2026, after the UK requested their extradition to face charges including rape, assault and facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, and on September 9, 2026 a US judge refused them bail (Al Jazeera, September 9, 2026). The Press Association reported on October 9, 2026 that their final extradition hearings are set for November 19 (Andrew) and November 20 (Tristan), according to their lawyer, and that “Both men deny any wrongdoing” (Press Association). Separately, Romanian prosecutors indicted Andrew Tate on September 4, 2026 on charges including trafficking of minors and money laundering, with Tristan indicted for complicity; their Romanian lawyer said, “Our clients continue to reject the allegations against them” (Al Jazeera, September 4, 2026). Both brothers deny the allegations, and neither has been convicted in these cases. This page doesn’t comment on them. What they mean for The Real World’s members is covered in is The Real World still running.

When this doesn’t apply

  • If you want an exact fortune. No verified figure exists, and this page won’t invent one.
  • If you’re reading this after November 7, 2026. The legal cases move quickly; check the outlets linked above for anything newer.
  • If you’re hoping to copy how they made money. Several of these businesses are the subject of criminal allegations, which the brothers deny. This page describes the record; it isn’t a guide.
  • If you want to know about The Real World itself. It’s run by New Era Learning LLC, and what it teaches, costs and doesn’t promise is covered in is The Real World worth it.
