How to Join The Real World: Sign-Up and Payment (2026)

Joining The Real World takes a few minutes, but a few details catch people out: which site is the official one, which billing option takes which payment method, and what to do once the payment goes through. How do I join The Real World, step by step?

1. Compare the plans. The plan page shows the plans copied from the official checkout. Conquer is $99 a month or $996 a year. Vanguard is $499 a month and was marked sold out.
2. Open the official checkout. Payment happens on The Real World’s own checkout at jointherealworld.com.
3. Choose monthly or yearly. The checkout opens on monthly billing. Switch the toggle to yearly for the $996 price, which the checkout labels “17% off” and which saves $192 against twelve monthly payments.
4. Pay. Monthly billing showed a “Join with Card” button. When yearly billing was checked, it offered crypto payment only.
5. Log in. The official support page says: “Log in at app.jointherealworld.com with the email address you used to join.”
6. Install the app if you want it. The support page says the app is a progressive web app that “installs straight from this website”, so there is nothing to find in an app store.
7. Choose a campus. Pick where to start from the campus list.

Which site is the official The Real World website?

The official checkout is at jointherealworld.com, and members log in at app.jointherealworld.com. Plenty of other sites use “The Real World” or “Hustlers University” in their name, including this one. therealworldus.com is an independent site, not The Real World itself, and it never takes payment or asks for a card. If a page asks you to pay somewhere other than jointherealworld.com, stop and check the address.

If you live outside the US, the support page answers “Can I join?” with: “Membership is billed in USD by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover.” Your bank’s exchange rate and any foreign-transaction fees are separate. What happens after you pay?

You log in with the email you joined with and choose a campus. The Real World runs as a progressive web app, and the support page says you can install it on each device and log in with the same email. The Conquer plan lists 7 connected devices.

How do I join Hustlers University?

Hustlers University is the platform’s former name, and there is no separate way to join it now. You join The Real World. On the old platform, membership cost $49.99 a month and gave access to a single campus. The Real World costs $99 a month, and that includes every campus. Pages quoting $49.99 as today’s price are describing the old platform.

Why can’t I join The Real World?

Only the official pages are reliable here, and they point to a few checks:

• Wrong plan. Vanguard was marked sold out, so choose Conquer.
• Wrong payment method for the billing option. When checked, yearly billing offered crypto only and monthly offered card. If your card isn’t going through on yearly, that may be why.
• Card declined. Membership is billed in US dollars, so check that your bank allows US dollar online payments.
• Paid but can’t log in. Log in at app.jointherealworld.com with the exact email you paid with. If that still fails, contact The Real World through its official support page.

• It isn’t for quick money. If you want a get-rich-quick scheme, don’t join. The platform teaches skills; it doesn’t promise to pay back the fee.

• It renews automatically. The subscription renews until you cancel it in your account settings.
• Some campuses need extra money. Trading, crypto or running an online store can need money of your own, separate from the subscription, and that money is at risk.
