The Real World Certificate: What It Is and What It Isn't

The Real World's Campus Graduation Certificate: how you earn it, the public verification link, Marketplace access, and why it isn't a degree or an accredited qualification.

A navy card quoting The Real World About page: Every certificate is signed off by a person, not issued automatically

Direct answer

Yes, The Real World gives a certificate, but it isn't a degree. The Real World is an online learning platform, formerly Hustlers University. Its About page says each campus issues a Campus Graduation Certificate "to members who pass its assessments and have their submitted work approved by a campus expert", that every certificate is signed off by a person rather than issued automatically, and that it comes with a public verification link you can share with employers or clients. The same page calls the certificate "Tier II Clearance" and says it unlocks contract work in the platform's internal Marketplace. It is included in the membership at no extra cost, and The Real World says more than 800 had been issued as of September 2026, a figure this site can't check. The certificate was launched in April 2026, according to trade press. The Real World doesn't describe it as an accredited qualification, and its About page says the platform isn't for you if you want a formal qualification (checked November 5, 2026).

People ask about a Real World certificate for two reasons: they want something to show for the work, or they’ve seen “university” in the old Hustlers University name and wonder if there’s a degree at the end. There’s a certificate, but no degree. Everything below comes from The Real World’s own About page, homepage and privacy policy, read on November 5, 2026, plus one trade-press report of the launch. For the accreditation question in full, see is Hustlers University accredited.

Does The Real World give a certificate?

Yes. The About page answers the question “Does The Real World offer a certificate?” with: “Yes. Each campus issues a Campus Graduation Certificate to members who pass its assessments and have their submitted work approved by a campus expert” (About page). The homepage advertises the same thing under the heading “Earn Your Signed Diploma”. (PRIMARY)

Here’s what the official page says about it:

What What the About page says
Who issues it Each campus, so it is per campus, not one certificate for the whole membership
How you earn it Pass the campus’s assessments and have your submitted work approved by a campus expert
Who signs it off “Every certificate is signed off by a person, not issued automatically”
How others can check it It “comes with a public verification link you can share with employers or clients”
What it unlocks Contract work in the internal Marketplace, “where members hire and pay each other”
What it costs “Included in the membership at no extra cost”
How many “More than 800 have been issued as of September 2026” (The Real World’s own figure, not verified)

Read on the official About page, November 5, 2026.

What is Tier II Clearance?

It’s the name The Real World gives the graduation certificate when it describes the Marketplace. The About page says: “Anyone can post a paid contract; members who’ve earned a campus graduation certificate can bid and deliver.” It goes on: “That certificate — Tier II Clearance — is a publicly shareable, manually reviewed proof of competence.” (PRIMARY)

The page doesn’t say what Tier I is, or whether there are tiers above II. Payments on the Marketplace “sit in secure escrow, released only once work is approved”, according to the same page. More on the Marketplace is in The Real World 2.0.

When did the certificate start?

In April 2026, according to trade press. IT Brief Australia reported on April 16, 2026 that The Real World “has launched an outcome-based Campus Graduation Certificate”, that the credential “covers more than 10 disciplines”, and that certified members “gain Specialist status inside the TRW Marketplace”. The report is based on what The Real World told the publication, so treat it as the company’s own account. (PRIMARY for what was announced; the details are the company’s claims.)

Is it a degree or an accredited qualification?

No. The Real World doesn’t call it either, and none of its public pages names an accrediting body. Its About page describes the platform as “Not a school, not a university”, and lists, under “It’s Not For You If”, people who “want a formal qualification or a guarantee of income” (PRIMARY). Hustlers University never awarded degrees either; the details are in is Hustlers University accredited, and the degree-versus-membership comparison is in The Real World vs university.

So what is it worth? On The Real World’s own description, two things: a person reviewed work you actually did, and someone else can check that through the verification link. Whether a client or employer cares is up to them, and The Real World publishes no data on that.

What isn’t public yet?

The official pages leave several things out, so this page does too:

  • what the assessments in each campus involve, and how long they take;
  • what share of members who try them pass;
  • what the public verification page looks like and what it shows;
  • whether a certificate lapses if you cancel your membership.

The privacy policy does list “certificates earned upon successful course completion” among the educational data it keeps about members, but it doesn’t say what happens to a certificate after you leave. If that matters to you, ask support before you cancel; how to cancel The Real World covers the rest.

When this doesn’t apply

  • If you need a recognised qualification for a job, a visa or further study. This certificate isn’t one, and The Real World says so.
  • If you expect it to guarantee work. It unlocks bidding on the Marketplace; it doesn’t promise contracts or income. Results vary.
  • If the details have changed. Everything here was read on November 5, 2026. Check the official About page for the current wording.
  • If your campus works differently. The About page says each campus issues a certificate, but this site hasn’t checked the assessment in every campus.

What to do next

If the certificate is part of why you’re considering joining, start with the campus you’d want it in: the campus guide and which campus to start with help you choose. Current plans are on the plan page.

Related questions

Does The Real World give you a certificate?

No. Hustlers University, now The Real World, has never awarded degrees. The certificate is The Real World's own credential, and its About page says the platform is not for people who want a formal qualification.

What is Tier II Clearance in The Real World?

How many Real World certificates have been issued?

The About page says more than 800 had been issued as of September 2026. That is The Real World's own figure, and this site can't verify it.

There's no way to promise that. It isn't an accredited qualification, and The Real World publishes no data on how employers treat it. Its value is that a person reviewed real work and that the verification link lets someone check it.
