What does the AI Automation campus teach?

An AI automation is a system that uses AI tools to do a business task without a person doing it each time: answering customer questions, following up leads or booking calls. The campus teaches you to build these systems for businesses, and then how to sell them.

The official campus card says The Real World teaches “anybody, even with limited technical knowledge, the skills required to build AI systems.” The official page organises the campus into three tracks:

In his experience, it suits people who:

• Like building systems. If you enjoy making a process run by itself, this is the campus that rewards it.
• Like automation and efficiency. The work is about making things faster and more reliable for a business.
• Are willing to sell. The system is only half the job. You also have to reach out to businesses and win them as clients.

Who should skip it?

It isn’t for people who aren’t willing to sell what they build, or approach people about it. He also points out that people who prefer being hands-on and talking with people all day may find another campus a better fit. What do people get wrong about AI automation?

The biggest misunderstanding, he says, is that you can “just automatically make money from it.” You can’t. Building a working system takes effort to set up, and because the barrier to entry is low, plenty of other people are learning the same skills.
