  3. Federico, Strategic Marketing

Federico was first paid 35 days after joining, for “pennies”, and now makes 5K to 10K a month: a Strategic Marketing case study

Italy flagFederico, 24ItalyStrategic Marketing campusThe Real World’s own interview, 4 minutes. It loads only when you press play.

Federico was a university student in Italy, “broke, obviously, as all university students”. In a student interview published on The Real World’s own website, with a caption filing it under Copywriting and giving the age as 24, Federico describes being paid for the first time “35 days after I joined”: “like pennies”, for something that “took me maybe, I don’t know, one day to fulfill. It was a couple of emails”. Since then, one month “I surpassed the 10K threshold”, December was “around 7.5K”, and Federico puts a typical month at “around 5K, 10K, this kind of range”.

Two things to know first. The campus: the caption says Copywriting, which is now the Strategic Marketing campus, the same campus under its 2026 name; Federico doesn’t name a campus in the video. And the figures: the caption gives “$10,000/month” and says Federico “now lives in a mansion in Thailand with brothers from TRW”; Federico gives a range, no currency, and says only “another continent” and “I literally live with people I deeply respect”. Below: what Federico says, in Federico’s own words and step by step; what the Strategic Marketing campus looks like inside; wins and reviews from other members; and who this path suits. The full transcript is under “What Federico said”. Everything here comes from the interview, The Real World’s own caption and app, or the sources listed at the end.

At a glance

  • Who

Federico. The Real World’s caption gives the age as 24 and shows an Italian flag; Federico says “I lived in Italy” (2:44) and doesn’t state an age.

  • Starting point

“a university student, broke, obviously, as all university students, or most of them, completely broke” (4:29).

  • Campus

The caption says Copywriting, now Strategic Marketing. Federico doesn’t name a campus; the first paid job was “a couple of emails” (1:57).

  • Timeline

“I got paid 35 days after I joined. So around, I believe February or late, super late January” (1:17). The video doesn’t name the year; it was on The Real World’s home page by 8 June 2023.

  • Result (video)

“two months ago, I surpassed the 10K threshold”; December “around 7.5K” (0:49 to 0:59); typically “around 5K, 10K, this kind of range” (1:09). No currency; revenue or profit not said.

  • Result (caption)

The Real World’s caption: “New revenue: $10,000/month”, and “Starting from ZERO when” Federico joined, “Frederico now lives in a mansion in Thailand with brothers from TRW.”

  • Now

“I literally live with people I deeply respect” (3:21): “we fight, we train, we make money, we come up with new ideas.”

The caption’s $10,000 a month is the top of Federico’s own range, “around 5K, 10K”; Federico reached it in one month (“I surpassed the 10K threshold”), and December was about 7.5K. Federico gives no currency and doesn’t say whether these are revenue or profit. The caption spells the name “Frederico” and adds Thailand and a mansion; in the video Federico says only “another continent” and living with people met through it. The figures are Federico’s and The Real World’s own; this site hasn’t seen them.

Transcribed on 26 October 2026 from the interview audio with Whisper speech recognition (run locally), then checked against a second full pass and a re-run of every part with two models: punctuation fixed, nothing added; “[unclear]” marks words the passes don’t agree on. The video is cut from longer answers: it starts mid-answer (“To be honest”), and only one question is in it. At 2:44 three readings hear “I lived in Italy”, one “I live in Italy”. Speaker labels are ours. The interviewer is from The Real World. The 50 bucks mentioned was the price at the time; today it is $99 a month on the official checkout.

0:00 Federico: To be honest, I'm not really super sharing a lot of wins, because this will sound a little braggy, but they come, I get paid, let's say often, so I wouldn't like spam it with wins. I'm not super sharing a lot of wins there, but yeah, there are some historic wins. I remember like my first 1K win, man, that was crazy. And yeah, I believe there are like four or five wins in total of mine. I'm not super showy, but yeah.

0:38 Interviewer: What would you say you average on a monthly basis at the moment? Is that a figure you could share?

0:44 Federico: Yeah, sure, no problem. It varies, it varies. Like, two months ago, I surpassed the 10K threshold, and this, on December, I believe I went around 7.5K, something like that. It varies, it varies. But yeah, let's say around 5K, 10K, this kind of range.

1:15 Federico: I received my first money. I got paid 35 days after I joined. So around, I believe February or late, super late January. And yeah, it was crazy. I know this sounds silly, but when I got paid for the first time, I thought, wait a second, this is real. So somebody paid me. I got paid like pennies because I didn't know what I was doing. I wasn't very well versed in sales. I was kind of nervous about asking somebody to pay me for something that took me maybe, I don't know, one day to fulfill. It was a couple of emails, right? And I felt weird, awkward to ask a lot of money in the beginning, I remember.

2:06 Federico: So many people are saying, hey, it's kind of saturated, this market is kind of saturated, drop shipping is kind of saturated, blah, blah, blah. Everything's saturated. I mean, everything good is saturated. There's a reason why things are saturated: because there's money to be made, so everybody's going there. All you need to do is rise to the occasion and become a professional. And The Real World just gives you all you need to become that guy, to become a professional, to become a great student, to become a great businessman. That is literally all that is required for you to make money in a saturated market.

2:44 Federico: I lived in Italy, right? And in my town, there were, again, people like me are rare, are super rare, at least in my town. I don't know everything about the world, but where I come from, people like me are rare. And what The Real World made possible was not only me making money, getting out of university, finding a different kind of path that fulfilled me much more than just study, pay taxes, and work. I also found brotherhood. And this is so profound. I literally live with people I deeply respect, I deeply like, I compete with in a friendly way, obviously, but I compete with, I spar with, we fight, we train, we make money, we come up with new ideas. It's so, the energy, it's so powerful, it's so real, it's so beautiful. And so, yeah, I can definitely say that the community aspect of The Real World is very powerful and is probably one of the things that really, really matter to me.

3:56 Federico: If you're thinking about joining, what are you doing? Just join, work hard, make money, and enjoy life. Like, what are you doing? What are you waiting? I don't understand, because I am more of a go-getter. If I see something makes sense and it's 50 bucks, come on. If something makes sense and it looks solid, I'll just go for it and give everything I've got. So if you're kind of on the fence, just join. What are you doing? It's crazy, man. If I think about it, it's literally crazy. I went from literally a university student, broke, obviously, as all university students, or most of them, completely broke, to 10K in another continent with people I like, and just enjoying life, training, having fun, et cetera. This is crazy.

How you get started

  1. Join and add the Strategic Marketing campus

One membership covers every campus: $99 a month or $996 a year on the official checkout. Inside the app you add campuses from the “My Campuses” list. Strategic Marketing is the campus that used to be called Copywriting.

  2. Read START-HERE

“Stay updated”: new strategies “drop regularly inside the announcements”. “Have questions?”: drop them in #newb-chat “and someone smart from the team will help you FAST”.

  3. Take Start Here - What is Strategic Marketing?

Its first module, Rig The Money Game In Your Favor, has two lessons and opens with Welcome To The Strategic Marketing Campus. Next in the Learning Center come 1 - Strategic Marketing Bootcamp, 2 - Full Marketing Project Walkthroughs (2026), 3 - How To Sell To Business Owners and 4 - Get Your First Client in 24-48 Hours.

  4. Follow the daily flow

The #daily-schedule post, “Best simple daily flow”: say GM in #daily-GM, attend the Morning Power Up Call in #power-up-live, do the Dojo Drill of the Day in #the-dojo-hq and the #daily-dojo-puzzle, attend the other live calls when you can, or “watch the recording”.

  5. Expect a small first job

Federico’s first paid job was “a couple of emails”, paid “like pennies” (1:44), 35 days after joining. Asking for more came later: “I felt weird, awkward to ask a lot of money in the beginning”.

What support is like

  • #newb-chat. START-HERE sends every question there. The Real World publishes no response-time promise.
  • Other members. Federico: “I also found brotherhood” (3:14), and now lives with people met through it: “we fight, we train, we make money, we come up with new ideas”. That is Federico’s account.
  • Live calls. The Morning Power Up Call runs in #power-up-live; a post in #daily-schedule asks members to turn on livestream notifications for the campus’s pop-up calls.
  • The Dojo. A channel group with #daily-dojo-puzzle, #the-dojo-hq (the Dojo Drill of the Day) and #the-dojo.
  • No guarantee. The Real World’s Terms of Use say it doesn’t guarantee any financial outcome. Every campus starts from the fundamentals and assumes no prior knowledge.

Real wins and reviews

No posts from the Strategic Marketing campus’s own #wins channel have been captured for this site yet, so these are other members’ wins from across The Real World, with names and avatars blurred (any that show this campus come first). Is this path for you?

It may suit you if

  • You can live with a small first payment. Federico’s was “like pennies”, 35 days in.
  • You are ready to learn to ask for money. Federico “wasn’t very well versed in sales” at first.
  • You have no starting capital and a few hours a day. The Real World lists Strategic Marketing among the campuses that “sell a skill instead of a product”.
  • You want people to work alongside. Federico calls the community “one of the things that really, really matter to me”.

It may not suit you if

  • You are shy or timid. In the experience of the member behind this site, selling your writing means talking to clients.
  • You expect a steady $10,000 a month. That is the caption’s figure; Federico’s own is a range, “around 5K, 10K”, that “varies”.
  • You can only give it the odd hour. The official courses page says “the checklist expects a few focused hours per day” and that “Members who treat it as a side interest see little.”
  • You need a guaranteed return. The Real World’s Terms of Use say it doesn’t guarantee any financial outcome, and Federico’s figures are Federico’s own.

Federico’s numbers are one student’s account, given in an interview The Real World chose to publish. For more on who it suits and how long it took to feel confident, see the Strategic Marketing campus review, from a member who took the campus when it was still Copywriting, in the Hustlers University days.
