Jonathan joined Hustlers University in college and now says “we make more than 10k per month”: a Marketing case study

Lithuania flagJonathan, 26LithuaniaMarketing campusThe Real World’s own interview, 5 minutes. It loads only when you press play.

“Back in the day, it was called Hustlers University.” In a student interview published on The Real World’s own website, Jonathan describes joining “about a year and a half ago” while “going through a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree”, finding “the marketing section” and deciding that “even if I don’t make any money”, the learning alone was worth it. The result Jonathan gives: “we make more than 10k per month consistently”, for “five or six minimum” months.

Two things to know first. The figure: Jonathan says “we”, with no currency and without saying whether it is revenue or profit, and doesn’t say who “we” is. The Real World’s caption says Jonathan built a social media marketing agency with a brother and a best friend and that the three moved to Thailand; neither is in the video. And the campus: the caption says Marketing (“The Marketing Campus”), and Jonathan calls it “the marketing campus”. There is no campus by that name in the app today, and The Real World hasn’t said which of today’s campuses it was, so this page doesn’t point you to a campus page as Jonathan’s. Below: what Jonathan says, in Jonathan’s own words and step by step; what the app shows today; wins and reviews from other members; and who this path suits. The full transcript is under “What Jonathan said”. Everything here comes from the interview, The Real World’s own caption and app, or the sources listed at the end.

At a glance

  • Who

Jonathan. The Real World’s caption gives the age as 26 and shows a Lithuanian flag; Jonathan doesn’t state an age or a country in the video.

  • Starting point

“at this time, I’m going through a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, like, you know, I’m still in college” (0:25).

  • How Jonathan joined

“back in the day, it was called Hustlers University. So I joined about maybe about a year and a half ago” (0:09).

  • Campus

The caption: “Marketing”, “The Marketing Campus”. Jonathan: “I eventually got to the marketing section that they’re teaching” (0:15), and “the marketing campus” (1:51).

  • Timeline

Joined about a year and a half before the interview; the 10k a month for “five or six minimum” months (1:08). The video gives no dates; it was on The Real World’s home page by 8 June 2023.

  • Result (video)

“I can say that we make more than 10k per month consistently” (0:55). “We”, with no currency, and not said whether revenue or profit.

  • Result (caption)

The Real World’s caption: “New revenue: $10,000/month”; Jonathan “teamed up with” a brother and a best friend “to create their own Social Media Marketing Agency”, and the campus “helped them scale their agency to $10,000/month & move to Thailand together” (quoted without the pronoun).

The caption and Jonathan agree on about 10,000 a month. The caption adds the dollar sign, calls it revenue and says what the business is (a social media marketing agency, run with a brother and a best friend) and where they moved (Thailand); Jonathan says none of that in this video, only “we”. Jonathan also gives starting salaries for graduates (“35 grand, 40K before taxes”, 4:47) and says the app is built by “over 110 people” working “16 hours a day” (4:22): Jonathan’s own claims, not checked by this site. The figures are Jonathan’s and The Real World’s own; this site hasn’t seen them.

Transcribed on 31 October 2026 from the interview audio with Whisper speech recognition (run locally): a first pass on 25 October, then two more full passes with the medium and small models; punctuation fixed, fillers and false starts dropped, nothing added. Where the readings differ, the wording two of the three agree on is used; “And how many months now?” (1:01) is the interviewer in two readings. The video is edited: the answer at 1:10 follows no question on screen (it answers how the material compares with the internet), and “as I said earlier” (3:49) refers to something not in this cut. “Tate” (1:59) is as Jonathan says it, with no first name. Speaker labels are ours. The interviewer is from The Real World, not a Tate. The $50 mentioned was the price at the time; today it is $99 a month on the official checkout.

0:00 Interviewer: How did you discover The Real World? What did you get into? And how has that been financially?

0:07 Jonathan: I discovered it, I guess, was like, well, back in the day, it was called Hustlers University. So I joined about maybe about a year and a half ago. And then I eventually got to the marketing section that they're teaching. And I just started, like, I was like, wow, there was a lot of information here. Like, this is just insane, you know. And mind you, at this time, I'm going through a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, like, you know, I'm still in college, so I'm exposed to quite a lot of information. And then I was like, the amount of information in this place is just insane. You know, I was just learning so much. I was like, even if I don't make any money, just for the fact that I'm learning so much, I'm like, I'll be fine. Like, at least something I can use from here, you know.

0:47 Interviewer: Okay, so in terms of financial income now, how much can you reveal that you're making?

0:55 Jonathan: I can say that we make more than 10k per month consistently. Yeah, I can say that.

1:01 Interviewer: And how many months now?

1:08 Jonathan: Five or six minimum, I'd say.

1:10 Jonathan: Yeah, on the internet, if you Google things and you look things up on YouTube, they're going to be like two, three months old. So what's promoted by the algorithm is going to be already two, three months old. You're going to have a hard time. You have to, like, click a filter to search for something that is going to be good. Then you have to look through, like, a bunch of videos, and then you're like, okay, and that's my solution. Whereas in The Real World, do you remember the minute, like, ChatGPT came out? Boom, the next day, almost the next day, they started using ChatGPT, already telling you how to use it, how to make money using it. I remember Midjourney came out as well. Or what is it? DALL-E, isn't it? The one that generates the images. And instantly in the marketing campus, the very next day, they're like, boom, use it like this. This is the input. There was a whole tutorial already done. Boom. Like, you can't... Do you know when Tate says, like, speed? And he's like, you know, you got to go fast, you got to go speed. Like, they literally live that. Like, it's insane. Like, it's just like, boom, the newest thing comes out, they're there. And then you're already utilizing it, whereas your competition is still watching the three month video, or a three month old video, you know. So you're just already ahead of the pack. Like, you just get the information firsthand, before everybody else, before Twitter, before anything. And it's already, like, prepared to you nicely, so you don't have to, like, sieve through a bunch of academic papers or anything like that, you know. So that's what I find is the difference.

2:35 Interviewer: And why do you think they provide all of this value for $50?

2:39 Jonathan: Maybe they do just... I think they believe in it. The honest answer, I think they believe in it so much that they know that it will scale. That's my honest answer. I think they just know that it's such a good product, that there's nothing else out there, that people are going to be just basically so inclined to buy it that they can offer it at such a low price. And it's going to be like, they're going to get so many people signing up and staying on. You know, I think that's the honest truth. Yeah, I mean, I haven't found anything that is at all similar to The Real World.

3:10 Interviewer: For people who are still unsure about joining The Real World, maybe they're thinking it's a scam for $50, what advice would you have for them?

3:20 Jonathan: I would just be like, I would ask them honestly, I would be like, do you like not being able to pay if your parents got into an accident? Do you enjoy that? If that's what you enjoy, then it's definitely not for you. But if you want to make money, if you want to have financial stability, if you want to learn from the best, be surrounded by the best, be surrounded by positive people that will change your life every single day, then you'd want to put in like $50. You'd want to put in a lot more, to be honest with you, but it's 50 bucks. It's very little money. Like, you have to, as I said earlier, you have to invest in yourself. But then I will also say, like, listen, if you don't want it, I'll take it. Like, if you don't want the money, if you don't want to make, if you don't want to become rich and all that, that's fine. Listen, we'll take it. It's fine, someone else will, you know what I mean? Because there's a lot of winners, and the winners like to win. But if you're not a winner, if you don't like winning, then of course it's not suited for you. If you don't have $50 to put in to get the education, just even to see, like, this absolute, like, magnificent tool that is presented and built by over 110 people that work daily, like 16 hours a day, to make this tool as perfect as possible for you to be able to make money... like, if you don't want to put in $50 for that, well, you got big problems, is what I would say.

4:37 Jonathan: What else? Like, what else can you possibly do? Besides The Real World, you're stuck with what? You've got YouTube videos and you've got university. University, max, will make you... your first starting job, maximum, will pay 35 grand, 40K before taxes, depending where you live. Like, in the Western world, 40, 45K. There isn't much more that you'll make realistically. Like, people will tell you, oh, you'll be on 100 grand. You won't. That's completely untrue. And then the other, what's the option? I said university, and then you've got YouTube videos to learn from. You know, like, they're already behind. The money's already been made. So basically all you've got left is, like, get into some place that can teach you about money, that can teach you how to make money. And that's what I would do.

What The Real World offers today

Jonathan was in what The Real World’s caption calls The Marketing Campus, and Jonathan calls it “the marketing campus”. There is no campus by that name today: the “My Campuses” list in the owner’s account on 26 October 2026, after adding the campuses on offer, has twelve, and none is called just Marketing. The Real World hasn’t said which of today’s campuses the 2023 Marketing Campus is, so this page doesn’t point you to a campus page as Jonathan’s. The nearest by name is Strategic Marketing, the campus that used to be called Copywriting; the AI tools Jonathan talks about now have campuses of their own, AI Automation and AI Creative.

How you get started

  1. Join and add campuses

One membership covers every campus: $99 a month or $996 a year on the official checkout. Inside the app you add campuses from the “My Campuses” list.

  2. Choose where to start

With no budget, the official courses page points to Client Acquisition, Strategic Marketing or AI Automation, which “sell a skill instead of a product”. Jonathan “eventually got to the marketing section” (0:15).

  3. Take in the lessons

Jonathan: “I was just learning so much” (0:37), and “it’s already, like, prepared to you nicely” (2:25).

  4. Use the new tools early

What Jonathan rates most: when ChatGPT, Midjourney and DALL-E came out, “There was a whole tutorial already done” (1:56).

What support is like

  • Fast updates. Jonathan: “the newest thing comes out, they’re there” (2:08). That is Jonathan’s account of the time; The Real World publishes no response-time promise.
  • The people. Jonathan: “be surrounded by positive people that will change your life every single day” (3:37).
  • No guarantee. The Real World’s Terms of Use say it doesn’t guarantee any financial outcome. Every campus starts from the fundamentals and assumes no prior knowledge.

For the record, the scores on 27 February 2025: the profile at trwstudent.com showed 2.9 from 23 reviews, and therealworldeducation.com showed 4.4 from 82, most of them invited through a business link over two days. Both profiles have since been removed.

Is this path for you?

It may suit you if

  • You are studying and want to learn a skill alongside, as Jonathan did during a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.
  • You like new tools and want to use them early. Jonathan rates the campus most for covering them “the very next day”.
  • You would stay for the learning even before the money. Jonathan: “even if I don’t make any money … I’ll be fine.”

It may not suit you if

  • You are looking for a campus called Marketing. There is none by that name in the app’s campus list today.
  • You read “more than 10k” as one person’s take-home pay. Jonathan says “we”, with no currency and no split into revenue and profit.
  • You can only give it the odd hour. The official courses page says “the checklist expects a few focused hours per day” and that “Members who treat it as a side interest see little.”
  • You need a guaranteed return. The Real World’s Terms of Use say it doesn’t guarantee any financial outcome, and Jonathan’s figures are Jonathan’s own.

Jonathan’s numbers are one student’s account, in an interview The Real World chose to publish. To compare the campuses on offer today, see the guide to The Real World campuses.
