Ronan went from fixing dishwashers for 2K a month to 8K a month: a Strategic Marketing case study

Canada flagRonan, 22CanadaStrategic Marketing campusThe Real World’s own interview, 4 minutes. It loads only when you press play.

“I was making roughly like two grand a month back then. I was working an okay job. I was like fixing dishwashers and stuff.” In a student interview published on The Real World’s own website, with Tristan Tate asking the questions, Ronan, 22, from Canada, describes finishing high school and never going to college, joining “Hustler’s University” on Discord, and learning copywriting: “now I’m making around eight grand per month”, with “an agency with some fellow Gs I met inside the campus” on the way.

Three things to know first. The campus: The Real World’s captions say Copywriting, which is now the Strategic Marketing campus, the same campus under its 2026 name. The figures: Ronan gives no currency and doesn’t say whether they are revenue or profit; the caption says “New revenue: $8k/month”. And there are two interviews: an earlier one, with a different interviewer from The Real World, on the home page by June 2023, where Ronan says “Our first interview, I was doing like 5K, just under. Now I’m doing around 7K”, and describes working as a “strategic partner” for businesses. Both are below. Then what the Strategic Marketing campus looks like inside, reviews from other members, and who this path suits. Everything here comes from the interviews, The Real World’s own captions and app, or the sources listed at the end.

At a glance

  • Who

    Ronan: “I’m 22. I’m from Canada” (0:12). The Real World’s captions say 21.

  • Starting point

“I do have a high school education, but that’s about it. I never went to college” (0:25). At 19, “roughly like two grand a month”, “fixing dishwashers and stuff” (2:28).

  • How Ronan found it

Through a Fresh and Fit podcast with Andrew Tate (0:54); “a few months later” Ronan joined “Hustler’s University” on Discord.

  • Campus

Strategic Marketing, which Ronan knew as the copywriting campus. In the earlier interview: “I learned that actually in the copywriting campus” (2:07), and some of it from Arno, “the Business Mastery professor”.

  • Timeline

In The Real World “roughly two years” (2:15) by this interview, which was on The Real World’s home page by 29 November 2023. The earlier interview was there by 8 June 2023.

  • Result (video)

“now I’m making around eight grand per month” (2:47), up from “roughly like two grand a month”. No currency; revenue or profit not said.

  • Result (caption)

The Real World’s caption on this video: “Ronan, 21”, “New revenue: $8k/month”, “From searching for work to becoming a sought-after strategic partner. Thanks to The Real World, Ronan now earns over $8,000/month.”

The caption and Ronan broadly agree on the monthly figure: Ronan says “around eight grand”, the caption “over $8,000” and calls it revenue. The caption’s “from searching for work” doesn’t match Ronan’s account of “working an okay job” fixing dishwashers. The earlier interview’s caption read “New revenue: $7k+/month”, “Ronan now earns over $7,000/month”; in it Ronan says “around 7K” plus “a revenue share thing” covered by an NDA, which Ronan doesn’t put a figure on. That interview refers to a “first interview” at “just under” 5K, which this site hasn’t found. Ronan names the agency in the earlier interview, but every reading hears the name differently, so it isn’t given here. The figures are Ronan’s and The Real World’s own; this site hasn’t seen them.

Transcribed on 30 October 2026 from the interview audio with Whisper speech recognition (run locally): a first pass on 26 October, then two more full passes with the medium and small models; punctuation fixed, fillers dropped, nothing added; “[unclear]” marks words the passes don’t agree on. The interviewer is Tristan Tate, on camera throughout; “my brother” and “your brother” refer to Andrew Tate. At 0:58 two readings hear “toxic masculinity” and the third can’t make it out. Speaker labels are ours; who says the last line is unclear. The $50 mentioned was the price at the time; today it is $99 a month on the official checkout.

0:00 Tristan Tate: So, Ronan, tell us a little bit about who you are. Age, where you're from, what your background is, what your education is. Don't be ashamed to say none, because I have no education either.

0:12 Ronan: Yeah, so I'm 22. I'm from Canada. So, unironically, it's not freezing cold up here, and I don't ride a moose. I actually ride a polar bear into battle.

0:24 Tristan Tate: Oh, very cool.

0:25 Ronan: Yeah. I do have a high school education, but that's about it. I never went to college.

0:30 Tristan Tate: Yeah, same as me, same as me, and look where I am. You're 22 years of age. The good news is I was flat broke until I was almost 24. So if you're making any money now, you have a head start on me, which is great. So how did you find, I guess, me or my brother or The Real World? How did you first come across us?

0:49 Ronan: I was actually first watching Fresh and Fit.

0:53 Tristan Tate: Oh, okay, yeah.

0:54 Ronan: I found you guys through their first podcast with your brother. Man, that was the king of toxic masculinity. So that one was super eye-opening. And a few months later, I saw the HU, it was originally Hustler's University 1.0 or 2.0, in Discord. I decided, okay, yeah, sure, I'll just join up. And so that's kind of the story behind joining The Real World.

1:19 Tristan Tate: So you decided, like me, not to go to conventional university and educate yourself in the conventional way. What was it about The Real World as an educational platform that caught your interest?

1:34 Ronan: It was very straight to the point, because in university, they have all these subjects. It's like, oh, you got business studies or marketing studies. None of that interested me. But Hustler's University is like, we teach you how to make money online. It's very direct, it's very straightforward. That's part of the appeal for me. And I was pretty disenchanted with university education as I was growing up. My father, I have my father to thank for that. So he's just like, it's bullshit. Just start making money, man.

2:07 Tristan Tate: So how are you making money today? So you've now been in The Real World about a year, I'm guessing, by what you're saying.

2:15 Ronan: Roughly two years.

2:16 Tristan Tate: Roughly two years. So if you were to take your situation three years ago and your situation today, what were you doing when you were 19 for money? How much were you earning? How has that changed?

2:28 Ronan: I was making roughly like two grand a month back then. I was, I mean, I was working an okay job. I was like fixing dishwashers and stuff. You know, I mean, I was meeting rich people at the same time, so that was nice, but I really wanted something that was a little more flexible. So now I'm making around eight grand per month.

2:51 Tristan Tate: Eight grand a month.

2:52 Ronan: Yeah, now it's actually looking to scale a bit higher than that, as a matter of fact. So we'll see. I'm starting up an agency with some fellow Gs I met inside the campus.

3:02 Tristan Tate: Nice. I guess that brings me on to my next question. What do you think about the culture of The Real World? Because I've read many attack hit pieces saying that The Real World is a toxic culture that encourages men to be their absolute worst version of themselves. You've made some friends inside. How much can you talk about the culture inside and the other people?

3:25 Ronan: It's actually a lot more supportive than most people give it credit for. And while I say this as a young man, I appreciate the tough love that I get from my fellow brothers inside.

3:38 Tristan Tate: What would you say to people who think The Real World is a scam? I've heard that conspiracy theory thrown out a lot.

3:47 Ronan: I'd say they'd have to see the overwhelming success. Like, there's got to be hundreds of testimonials on the internet by now. Thousands, almost. It's ridiculous how much success the students have seen inside. Like, we have dedicated channels to just show student wins inside. So it's absolutely ridiculous. They'd have to test it for themselves. It's $50, so I don't see why, like, there's really nothing to lose. At least, you know, in my mind.

4:17 Tristan Tate: Yeah, no, I agree. I would agree with you. Last question. A 22-year-old, your age, hasn't gone to university, same circumstances as you, is thinking about joining The Real World. What would you say to them?

4:31 Ronan: I'd say join immediately. I mean, it's no questions asked. I mean, you don't really have anything to lose. You have nothing. You're 22, you have basically zero money. Maybe you have like $50 left. The best investment you can make in yourself is to just join and start working on your fitness, start developing the skills necessary to make money.

4:52 Tristan Tate: All right, Ronan, thank you very much for your time.

4:54 Ronan: Speak soon, bro. Thank you very much.

The earlier interview: from 5K to 7K, and a strategic partner

An earlier interview The Real World recorded in 2023, with a different interviewer from The Real World (not a Tate), on the home page by 8 June 2023. Ronan gives the figures as “just under” 5K at a “first interview” and “around 7K” now, plus a revenue share Ronan can’t talk about, and describes moving “way beyond copy” into strategy. The $50 mentioned was the price then; it is $99 a month now.

Recorded by The Real World in 2023; The Real World’s own video, 5 minutes. It loads only when you press play.

“Our first interview, I was doing like 5K, just under. Now I’m doing around 7K.”

Ronan, at 0:08 in this video

What it means: Five months between the two, by the interviewer’s question. No currency; revenue or profit not said.

“there’s like a something of a commission deal, like a revenue share thing. But, you know, that’s more of an NDA”

Ronan, at 0:18 in this video

What it means: Extra income Ronan doesn’t put a figure on. Not counted anywhere on this page.

“It’s way beyond copy now, because before I was just writing words.”

Ronan, at 1:47 in this video

What it means: The work changed: from writing to advising businesses, for example on “this launch of my Amazon store”.

“he teaches way more than just copywriting itself. He actually teaches how to become that, like, strategic partner in a person’s business.”

Ronan, at 2:21 in this video

What it means: Where Ronan learned it: the copywriting campus, now Strategic Marketing.

“some of that stuff I also learned from Arno. Arno, he’s the Business Mastery professor.”

Ronan, at 2:51 in this video

What it means: One membership covers every campus; Ronan used two.

Transcribed on 30 October 2026 from the video’s audio with Whisper speech recognition (run locally): a first pass on 26 October, then two more full passes with the medium and small models; punctuation fixed, fillers dropped, nothing added; “[unclear]” marks words the passes don’t agree on. The name in the first question, probably Ronan’s agency, is heard differently in every reading (“Aerofin”, “Erefin”) and is marked [unclear], as are two short phrases at 0:37 and 0:46. Speaker labels are ours. The interviewer is from The Real World, not a Tate. The Real World’s caption for it read “Ronan, 21” and “New revenue: $7k+/month”.

0:00 Interviewer: All right. So in those five months, how has [unclear] progressed for you? What significant things stand out?

0:08 Ronan: Our first interview, I was doing like 5K, just under. Now I'm doing around 7K. I mean, there's something out there, there's like a something of a commission deal, like a revenue share thing. But, you know, that's more of an NDA, so I can't really talk about that.

0:29 Interviewer: So 7K confirmed, and then an unconfirmed amount, which will not disclose.

0:36 Ronan: Yeah.

0:37 Interviewer: Got it. [unclear]. But I mean, 7K a month is something a lot of people dream of. So congratulations, Ronan.

0:46 Ronan: Thank you. [unclear] definitely doing well.

0:50 Interviewer: How is copywriting progressing for you, then? Is it something you plan on continuing to do? How are you planning on scaling even further?

0:58 Ronan: Well, it's kind of progressed beyond copywriting, of course. And now it's more so, there's like digital marketing as well. So mainly I'm more of a strategic partner, I guess you could say, in the businesses that I work with. So really, I mean, they come to me, they're just like, hey, how should I strategize this launch of my Amazon store, let's say. And, you know, from there, I just kind of play the chessboard and I make all the chess moves, and like, yeah, you should do, you know, X, Y and Z, and then this will optimize how many people see your store and, you know, your social media posts and stuff like that. So that's sort of my role in the business. It's way beyond copy now, because before I was just writing words. And now it's like, yeah, you should do X, Y and Z because of, you know, one, two and three reasons.

1:59 Interviewer: Interesting. Okay. So where did you learn the other skill sets as well, outside of copywriting?

2:07 Ronan: I learned that actually in the copywriting campus. So, because, like, I've talked about the professor, Andrew, the professor in the copywriting campus, and he teaches way more than just copywriting itself. He actually teaches how to become that, like, strategic partner in a person's business. So it goes far beyond words, and it goes into digital marketing as a whole, and strategizing. And there's a lot of push-ups too. Got to do a lot of push-ups, of course. But yeah, I mean, some of that stuff I also learned from Arno. Arno, he's the Business Mastery professor. He's the man. He's one of the best professors. I can't say he's the best. Well, actually, no, I have to say he's the best, because otherwise he'll hunt me down. He's that kind of guy.

3:16 Interviewer: So for people who are thinking about joining, but are maybe unsure whether or not it's a scam for the $50, what advice would you have to them?

3:30 Ronan: Look, if you think it's a scam after they've got a dedicated wins channel, I don't know how anyone could still think it's a scam, when you have all these students continually renewing their subscriptions. If you still think it's a scam, you know what? It's not for you. Don't get it. But if you're willing to make a way better, like, it's $50, super cheap investment. Even then, if you're willing to take that leap of faith, if you're willing to handle the stress that comes with owning your own business, making your own money that's not tied to a job, if you're willing to not be a brokie for the rest of your life, if you actually want to make something of yourself, if you want to retire your mom or your father or whoever else, or if you just want a better life for you and your kids, the best investment you can make is The Real World, and consequently, yourself. Take that $50, invest it in yourself. Learn how to run a profitable business inside of The Real World. That's the best advice I could offer anyone.

What the Strategic Marketing campus offers

What the Strategic Marketing campus looks like from a member’s account, how a new member starts, and what the support is like. The Strategic Marketing campus page covers what it teaches, and the Strategic Marketing campus review covers the costs and what can go wrong.

The #daily-schedule channel, 26 October 2026, with the campus’s “best simple daily flow” of live calls and drills.

How you get started

  1. Join and add the Strategic Marketing campus

One membership covers every campus: $99 a month or $996 a year on the official checkout. Inside the app you add campuses from the “My Campuses” list. Strategic Marketing is the campus that used to be called Copywriting.

  2. Read START-HERE

“Stay updated”: new strategies “drop regularly inside the announcements”. “Have questions?”: drop them in #newb-chat “and someone smart from the team will help you FAST”.

  3. Take Start Here - What is Strategic Marketing?

Its first module, Rig The Money Game In Your Favor, has two lessons and opens with Welcome To The Strategic Marketing Campus. Next in the Learning Center come 1 - Strategic Marketing Bootcamp, 2 - Full Marketing Project Walkthroughs (2026), 3 - How To Sell To Business Owners and 4 - Get Your First Client in 24-48 Hours.

  4. Follow the daily flow

The #daily-schedule post, “Best simple daily flow”: say GM in #daily-GM, attend the Morning Power Up Call in #power-up-live, do the Dojo Drill of the Day in #the-dojo-hq and the #daily-dojo-puzzle, attend the other live calls when you can, or “watch the recording”.

  5. Go beyond the words

In the earlier interview Ronan says the campus “teaches way more than just copywriting itself”, “how to become that, like, strategic partner in a person’s business” (2:21), and that some of it came from the Business Mastery campus (2:51).

What support is like

  • #newb-chat. START-HERE sends every question there. The Real World publishes no response-time promise.
  • The people. Ronan: “It’s actually a lot more supportive than most people give it credit for”, with “tough love” from “my fellow brothers inside” (3:25), and an agency started with “fellow Gs I met inside the campus” (2:58). That is Ronan’s account.
  • Wins channels. Ronan: “we have dedicated channels to just show student wins inside” (4:01). Each post there is a member’s own account.
  • Other campuses. One membership covers every campus. Ronan also learned from Arno, “the Business Mastery professor” (2:51 in the earlier interview). See the Business Mastery campus.
  • Live calls. The Morning Power Up Call runs in #power-up-live; a post in #daily-schedule asks members to turn on livestream notifications for the campus’s pop-up calls.
  • The Dojo. A channel group with #daily-dojo-puzzle, #the-dojo-hq (the Dojo Drill of the Day) and #the-dojo.
  • No guarantee. The Real World’s Terms of Use say it doesn’t guarantee any financial outcome. Every campus starts from the fundamentals and assumes no prior knowledge.

Real wins and reviews

No posts from the Strategic Marketing campus’s own #wins channel have been captured for this site yet, so these are other members’ wins from across The Real World, with names and avatars blurred (any that show this campus come first). Is this path for you?

It may suit you if

  • You have no degree and a job that pays the bills but not much more. Ronan was “fixing dishwashers and stuff” for “roughly like two grand a month”.
  • You want to move from writing into strategy. Ronan: “It’s way beyond copy now”.
  • You would build something with people you meet inside. Ronan is “starting up an agency with some fellow Gs”.
  • You have no starting capital and a few hours a day. The Real World lists Strategic Marketing among the campuses that “sell a skill instead of a product”.

It may not suit you if

  • You are shy or timid. In the experience of the member behind this site, selling your writing means talking to clients.
  • You want fast results. Ronan’s 2K to 8K took “roughly two years”, by Ronan’s account.
  • You can only give it the odd hour. The official courses page says “the checklist expects a few focused hours per day” and that “Members who treat it as a side interest see little.”
  • You need a guaranteed return. The Real World’s Terms of Use say it doesn’t guarantee any financial outcome, and Ronan’s figures are Ronan’s own.

Ronan’s numbers are one student’s account, given in interviews The Real World chose to publish. For more on who it suits and how long it took to feel confident, see the Strategic Marketing campus review, from a member who took the campus when it was still Copywriting, in the Hustlers University days.
